It is a state-wise University with the aim of confirming efficient and methodical education, training and research in allopathic and Indian systems of medication, Dentistry and Nursing. Act No.6 of the AP Government was passed accordingly and the University was installed on 9th April 1986 by the then Chief Minister Dr. N.T. Rama Rao.
The University ongoing functioning from 1st November in the same year. the university should have necessary facilities to provide for teaching, research, and extension in subjects related to medical and allied sciences which include Environmental Sciences, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Bioengineering, Dental, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health manpower development, Health administration, etc. The University is rapidly expanding its services in all faculties i.e., super specialties in modern medicine and postgraduate courses in all other faculties. the university to receive central assistance, the report of which has been submitted to the UGC.
Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Admission Procedure
The University provides various UG. PG and Ph.D. Course in a different field such as MBBS, BDS, BPT, etc. You can fill the admission form to visit the university website.
1. For MBBS/BDS Course
Students must be passed 12th or equivalent examination with Chemistry, Physics, Biology(Zoology, Botany)/English and Biotechnology. The Admission is decided based on the marks obtained in the NEET Entrance Exam. The Course fees are INR Rs 9,700/.
- OBC – 50% marks in Science subjects
- BC/SC/ST – 40% marks in Science subjects
- OC PH – 45% marks in Science subjects Service Candidates
2.For BPT Course
Cleared 12th class or its equivalent examination with Science subject from any reputed institutes
Qualifying Exam: AP EAMCET held by JNTU- Kakinada and University Fee INR Rs 5000/.
3.For B.Sc(Nursing) course
Candidates must have a 12th class or another equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and English is a compulsory subject.
Qualifying examination: AP EAMCET will be conducted by the JNTU (Kakinada), the university fee is Rs. 5500/-.
4.For B.Sc Para Medical Technology Courses
Candidates must have the 12th class or other equivalent exam Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry.
Qualifying examination: AP EAMCET will be conducted by the JNTU (Kakinada), the university fee is Rs. 5500/-.
5.For PG Medical Course
Candidates must have MBBS degree from any medical university/college which has recognized.
Qualifying examination: NEET-PG will be conducted by the designated authority, the university fee is Rs. 23500/-.
6.For M.Sc(N) Course
Candidates must have B.Sc.,(Nursing)/B.Sc., Hons(Nursing)/Post Basic B.Sc(Nursing) from recognized institution by the nursing counseling (Indian).
Qualifying examination: No “CET”, and university fee is Rs. 12800/-.
7.For M.P.T Course
Candidates must have BPT of the Dr.NTR UHS or any other equivalent degree and candidates have entered internship before the notified date.
Qualifying examination: No “CET”, and university fee is Rs. 12800/-.
8.For ISM & H (BAMS, BHMS, BNYS & BUMS) course
The students must have a higher secondary class with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry as optional, it shall be included in the practical test in every subject, with minimum 50% marks score for the general category students ad 40% for the OBC/SC/St candidates.
Qualifying examination: NEET UG conducted by the Designated Authority, university fee is INR.8500/-
9.For Apply MDS Course
Must hold BDS Course from any reputed institute or University. Admission depends on the mark obtained in the NEET MDS Entrance test.
Qualifying Exam: NEET MDS conducted by a designated authority.
