Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences (ITS) with 200 additional beds was established in 2015. The foundation of the University is based on Smt.G.R. Doshi and Smt.K.M.Mehta Institute of Food Diseases and Research Centre (IKDRC) recognized in 1981 with the private-public company to afford state of the art care for kidney diseases to people with limited financial resources. GUTS is a non-affiliating University and will have its component, recognized or approved colleges or schools in the future. the University is to provide efficient and responsive administration, scientific management and organization of teaching and research programs in the areas related to Transplantation and Allied sciences. it accessible and affordable to the population at large giving them healthy and productive lives. University was conceived in 1998 and the seed of its inception was laid down by Prof. H.L.Trivedi, the Founding Director of Smt.
