I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) was recognized by an Act of State Administration on 16th January 1997, to endorse technical, management and pharmacological education in the state at degree level and above. It was recognized as Punjab Technical University and retitled as I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University by State Government in the honor of Late Sh. Inder Kumar Gujral, Previous Prime Minister of India, in 2015. The university also participates in different industrial fairs as well as in trade expo.
