Establishment of Matsya University, Alwar was proclaimed in the budget speech of 2012-13 by Hon’ble chief minister of Rajasthan. Newspaper notification of University was done on 23-08-2012. Further, the name of the university was transformed as Raj Rishi Bhartrihari Matsya University, Alwar on 04-07-2014 notification No. 2 (14) Vidhi/02/2014 of state Government. Currently, a provisional campus of the University is placed at Girls Hostel Building of BSR Govt Arts College, Alwar. Raj Rishi Bharathi Matsya University Alwar is te only university in the Rajasthan catering the needs of the students of Alwar district.
